Crafting wines under his own name, separate from the family estate, since 2008, Dominique Lafon produces some of the richest, most respected white wines in all of the Cote d’Or. This single-vineyard Chardonnay from (arguably) Meursault’s greatest producer of Chardonnay is dense yet refined Meursault is loaded with flavors of fleshy stone fruit, citrus rind, grapefruit juice, fresh cut herbs, baking spice, and crushed wet rocks.
Vines are farmed organically and biodynamically, producing small quantities of sought-after wines. The 2020 ‘Narvaux’ is dense yet refined, with notes of citrus jam, grapefruit, herbs, and a strong minerality. Well-integrated oak and firm acidity give way to a long finish. Rich and round, with a striking, flint-noted acidity. Pair with creamy pastas, whole roasted chicken, and rich soups.
