‘La Tourtine’ comes from a 5 hectare plot of 40+ year old vines situated just above Tempier’s Cabassaou vineyard. Here, soils are rich in clay and limestone, which lead to a powerful and structured cuvée marked by bright acid and robust tannins.
2000 was a rather hot and low-yielding vintage in Bandol. This wine is dense, concentrated, and loaded with sharp tannins, though with 20 years of age on it, the wine is drinking beautifully now.
