Domaine Tempier is a contemporary Provencal legend and Bandol’s most recognized winery, producing powerful, Mourvedre dominant cuvees. The estate’s modern-day history dates back to 1936, when Lucien and Lulu Tempier were given the farm by Lulu’s father on their wedding day. Today, the estate farms all of their fruit organically and produces bold, earth-driven wines that can undoubtedly withstand the test of time, and is considered Provencal royalty after dominating the soils of Provence for the better half of the 20th century.
‘Cabassaou’ is comprised of 95% Mourvedre, rounded out with minimal Syrah and Cinsault, coming from vines with 50+ years of age. Juicy, concentrated fruit and structured tannins make this wine extremely memorable, and insanely food friendly; a solid example of how delicious Provencal reds can be.
Loaded with notes of dark fruit, licorice, garrigue, game, and sweet spice. This wine is a beautiful regional benchmark for sure!
