Alzinger’s 11 hectares of vines span some of Austria’s greatest growing sites, including Steinertal and Loibenberg. All of the estate’s fruit is whole-cluster crushed and sees short macerations, creating elegant wines of pristine quality. ‘Steinertal’ Riesling comes from a cooler plot of terraced vines in the heart of Wachau, creating a salty yet fruit-forward wine, loaded with notes of citrus, pears, and stony minerality.
This bottle is certain to evolve gracefully over time, though we don’t blame you if you can’t help but pop it now.
