Pierre Gonon is one of the most important producers in all of Saint-Joseph, as his strong advocacy for non-interventionist farming has made waves across the appellation. He ferments all of his juice in open oak vats and punchdowns are done by foot.
This Saint-Joseph is out of this world, marked by concentrated and peppery flavors of dark berries, violets, and spice. Gritty, well-integrated tannins lead to a refined and lingering finish, this is one of our favorite bottles year in and year out. Absolutely astounding.
