This complex and textured Nebbiolo is loaded with flavors of sour cherry, used leather, tar, rose hips, and black tea. Now with 15+ years of age on it, the wine is beginning to mellow out and spread its wings. Drink now or continue to age for another 5-7 years.
Francesco Rinaldi founded his estate back in 1870 after inheriting a plot of land in the heart of Barolo. However, Francesco’s family was anything but new to the winemaking game. His cousin, Giuseppe RInaldi, was also producing great Piemontese reds that were completely shaking up the region’s scene. Today, F. Rinaldi wines are produced only from organic fruit and are some of the best deals coming out of Barolo.
